New European Import Control System effective 1 February 2011

The new Import Control System (ICS), requiring economic operators to file an electronic entry summary declaration (ENS) before transporting cargo into European customs territory, (EU Regulation 1875/2006), will now come into effect on 1 February 2011, not as originally envisaged for January 2011.

Starting in February, Air Carriers will begin data transmission to EU customs for all shipments with first point of entry within the EU. For this reason the Unique ECONOMIC OPERATORS REGISTRATION & IDENTIFICATION number , EORI code, should always be mentioned on ALL AWBs!!!!

Please pay ATTENTION!! as EORI code IS IMPORTANT!!!! for compliance with EU Regulations!! Below we have EU links related to EORI and a simplified information of EK sky cargo:

In urgent cases where actual cnee’s EORI code number is not available at time of AWB preparation, at least our EORI code number must be mentioned on the MAWB (MB/L) Consignee field, and could also be mentioned on the HAWB (HB/L) as"c/o: Lymberpa SA, EORI: GR094078976" and a Correction must be made with the addition of the proper importer EORI code asap 4 hours prior to aircraft landing EU first entry point!!

We strongly advise you to contact us prior to AWB (B/L) issuance so to contact importer and verify the correctness of the EORI code that must be mentioned on the HAWB (HB/L)!!!!
