George
Charalambidis Lymberpa S.A., Hellenic International
Forwarders & General Enterprises Co., is the first and
oldest today, transport company in Greece. This as it
is the successor of Giovani Sofianopoulos Hellas, a
company established and operating in Greece in the
field of International Transport since 1859 (29 years
after the sovereignty of the Greek State of the Modern
Times was confirmed in the London Protocol).
Back then the
company was specializing on Maritime Transport. After
the invention of the Automobile (1861) and the
Airplane (1903), the Company expanded to cover these,
new at that time, emerging means of transportation
(road freight and air freight, respectively).
As it regards Airfreight in particular, the Company
has 50 years IATA experience as it was the first to
introduce professional air freight in Greece – back in
the 1960’s – when it first imported and applied the
use of air freight containers (the predecessors of our
known today ULDs). Naturally, the Company’s IATA
license, is the oldest in
Greece
today.
It is difficult to fit 152
years in a profile.. Fact is that
TODAY, Loving what we do daily, we are
a Young team Motivated & Blended with Experience, offering Reliable solutions, operating with
Privately owned means & facilities, Adjusting to your
needs!!
